Renowned for its attentive service and the engaging personality of its hosts, Lime Tree Lodge is the perfect place to base yourself for a culinary journey down south. Pauline and John delight in sharing their gastronomic discoveries from gourmet breakfasts and complimentary aperitifs to dinners featuring the best of Central Otago produce. Their love of good food and wine is evident as you are treated to delicious home baking and home-made pate, pickles and preserves, served with carefully selected regional delicacies.

Whether you decide to revive in the luxury of the lodge, take a tour of the nearby world famous wineries or enjoy the region’s wealth of outdoor activities, you will find it hard to leave Lime Tree Lodge.

Amenities

Guests of the Lodge are spoilt for choice when it comes to relaxation. A five hole pitch-and-putt golf course, croquet lawn, petanque court, swimming pool and spa pool provide plenty of on site activity, while the Lodge's helipad provides direct access to the region's spectacular ski fields, glaciers and sounds. Walk out of the Lodge and be whisked away on an awe-inspiring scenic flight to Mt Aspiring National Park, Milford Sound or Mt Cook - or go heli-skiing ‘off-piste’ for the adventure of a lifetime.

Lodge Gardens

Lime Tree Lodge takes its name from the many 'tilea cordata' lime trees which line the estate’s entrance. Over 50 roses surround the Lodge verandas, complementing the mixture of native grasses, camellias, rhododendrons, hostas, peonies and various perennials which are planted throughout the 10 acre property.

Six acres of lawn is dominated by Douglas firs, oaks, copper beech and assorted conifers, and provides the setting for the Lodge's five hole pitch-and-putt golf course.

Three acres of paddocks graze a flock of sheep, while a small orchard and vegetable and herb gardens supply fresh produce for the Lodge.

Green-fingered guests may enjoy a tour of the grounds with Pauline, particularly those with an interest in combination planting of native flora with non-indigenous species.

Refreshments

Complimentary evening canapés and aperitifs, freshly ground plunger or espresso coffee and the finest Harney & Sons Fine Teas, delicious home-baking, fresh fruit & chocolates and sparkling mineral water are available for guests to enjoy throughout their stay.

Aperitifs

Enjoy the Lodge's exceptional service and complimentary aperitifs - Central Otago wines or one of the Lodge’s specialties; a vodka lime gimlet while soaking up the warm Central Otago sun in summer months, or a warming Whiskey Mac in front of a roaring open fire after an invigorating day on the slopes.

Started in a ‘broken’ down old shed on Lake Wanaka - where the formula was originally crafted and produced – Broken Shed Vodka is free of additives and distilled from pure spring water taken from New Zealand’s Southern Alps – arguably some of the cleanest and tastiest water in the world.

Whiskey Macs have long been a tradition of high-country farming. Treat yourself to one of the finest – prepared by someone who is rather an expert in such matters - and sit back and enjoy stories from Pauline and John’s rich farming past.

Dining in

If the lure of complimentary aperitifs proves too tempting, guests can 'order in' from a wide selection of delicious menus and have their meal delivered to the front door!

For something more memorable, a three-course dinner, featuring a seasonal menu and fine Central Otago wines, is available at the Lodge.  Dinner is not included in the overnight tariff and is available by prior arrangement only.  The cost is NZ$150.00 per person (including a complimentary glass of wine). For more information on gourmet food and wine at Lime Tree Lodge, click here>Lime Tree Lodge Food and Wine
